Tips for Taking Your Dog to the Airport

Hi! Today I'm going to be teaching you about things you NEED TO KNOW if you are going take your dog to the airport. (We took her on the plane not in cargo.)

1. RESEARCH YOUR AIRLINE: Make sure to go online and/or call them. It's important because every airline has their own rules.

2. CONSULT YOUR VET:  Call your vet! They may ask you to come in and get your dog checked out. Boots and I came in and she was tested and we were given health records incase the airline wanted to see.

3. MEDICINE: Getting medicine for your dog *WITH VET PERMISSION* is helpful if you are going on a long flight with your dog. Boots is normally very mellow, but her medicine helped her fall asleep and not get scared during takeoff and landing.

4. WALK YOUR DOG ON THE PLANE: If your dog is getting anxious, one thing you can do is walk them up and down the aisles.

5. WALKS, WALKS, WALKS: This one is sort of obvious, but make sure to walk your dog right before and after you arrive and leave the airport. After we landed, Boots was very anxious and we had to take her out right away!
